Taos, NM celebrated the "Summer of Love" (the 40th anniversary of Woodstock) in 2009 with the moniker "Hippie Dippy Parade" (designated by the town council to promote tourism). One could say the spirit of the 60s is alive and well here, and that to live in Taos is a verb: to "counter culture" -- to wear non-conformity like a comfortable pair of jeans.
